STARTING AGAIN
The age when I decided to start over professionally and do something completely different.
I’d been taking photographs for years. But for a long time, photography was something that existed alongside my actual job.
In 2026, at 43, I left the company where I had worked for 19 years and decided to give photography a real chance.
It wasn’t some big plan I had been preparing for years. At some point, one question just became harder to ignore: did I want photography to remain something I only did on the side?
Eventually, my answer was no.
So I left a pretty secure job and started building something of my own. Since then, I’ve been figuring it out step by step.
The age when I decided to start over professionally and do something completely different.
For that long, my professional life had nothing to do with photography.
Long enough that Vienna stopped feeling like a foreign city a long time ago.
I’ve lived here for almost 20 years. Long before I started photographing people professionally in Vienna, this was simply my city.
I work here, meet friends here and walk with my family through the same streets where I now take photographs.
Maybe that’s why I’m especially fond of the less spectacular corners.
